Caring is also about generating change

For us, beauty begins with respect: for the skin, for people, and for the environment.

We believe in cosmetics with a purpose , which looks beyond the mirror and measures its success not only in visible results, but also in its ability to protect, educate and transform .

Taking care of yourself means being part of a movement that defends a simple but powerful idea:

EVERY GESTURE OF CARE CAN CHANGE MORE THAN JUST YOUR SKIN.

Our purpose: to care beyond the skin

At UMOA we understand care as a form of connection.

Taking care of ourselves is not an individual act: it is a way of relating to the world , to those around us, and to the consequences of our choices.

Our purpose is to demonstrate that cosmetics can be a real transformative tool , capable of uniting science, empathy and sustainability in a single gesture.

Every formula, every decision, and every story of UMOA is born with that idea:

THAT PERSONAL WELL-BEING CAN GENERATE COLLECTIVE WELL-BEING.

One mission, two paths

UMOA and the NGO Beyond Suncare share the same origin and the same reason for being.

Beyond Suncare, co-founded by Mafalda Soto, works in Africa to improve the dermatological health and social inclusion of people with albinism.

Its work, recognized by the United Nations as a “Best Practice,” combines scientific research, health education, and the free distribution of sun protection products tailored for people with albinism.

UMOA was created to expand the reach of this mission, transferring the clinical experience and dermatological knowledge acquired in Africa to the realm of conscious and everyday cosmetics.

A portion of UMOA's profits goes directly to fund Beyond Suncare's programs, while the technical and scientific expertise of the NGO enriches our formulas. This way, we create a circuit of positive impact: the science of care becomes a real network of protection and well-being.

Caring also means caring for the planet

For us, sustainability is not a trend, but a responsibility .

We believe that respect for the skin should go hand in hand with respect for the environment.

That's why we select responsibly sourced ingredients,
We prioritize recyclable packaging and minimize the environmental impact of our production and logistics processes.

From design to formulation, we seek to create long-lasting, transparent and consistent cosmetics that promote conscious consumption and the connection between health, beauty and planet.

Committed to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

With the aim of contributing to creating a better, more committed and sustainable society that welcomes and integrates all its members, UMOA joins the United Nations Agenda for Sustainable Development, aligning itself with its Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The SDGs are 17 goals established to achieve balanced sustainable development across three dimensions: economic, social, and environmental. They were adopted in 2015 by UN member states, who committed to achieving them by 2030. The SDGs aim to build a better future for our society based on the principle of “Leaving no one behind.”

Specifically, UMOA's work aligns with SDGs 3, 10, 12, 15 and 17.

SDG #3

Health and well-being

Ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being at all ages is essential for sustainable development.

SDG #10

Reduction of inequalities

Reducing inequalities and ensuring that no one is left behind is an integral part of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.

SDG #12

Responsible production and consumption

Global consumption and production, the driving forces of the economy, depend on the use of the natural environment and resources in a way that continues to have destructive effects on the planet.

SDG #15

Life in terrestrial ecosystems

Protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, halt and reverse land degradation and halt biodiversity loss.

SDG #17

Partnerships to achieve the goals

The SDGs can only be achieved through strong global partnerships and cooperation.

At UMOA, we understand beauty as a commitment to life: to the skin, to people, and to the planet.
